Yoga nidra allows you to recover during a session of 20 to 60 minutes the equivalent of 1 hour to 3 hours of deep sleep.
Little known, too, yoga nidra is one of the oldest. It comes to us from India and in Sanskrit "nidrâ" means sleep. The yoga of sleep...!
Yet not intended to put us to sleep, unless we are tired and it does not matter to recover. Sleep is regenerative, restorative and healing. If we do not sleep enough, our body develops inflammation.
Yoga nidra is a wonderful discipline which means "awake sleep".
You are in a lying position, you breathe and the voice of the teacher secures you while guiding you in the parts of your body with visualizations, it brings a great physical and mental relaxation. It's an inner journey!
We find ourselves in a state of consciousness that is close to that of sophrology and hypnosis.
When I don't fall asleep during a yoga nidra, I hear the noises that surround me far away but I can't move, or rather, I don't want to move!
It's a yoga that is easier to practice at home by Zoom on the internet, from your bed or not...
When we fall asleep it is so deeply that the awakening by others is not always
nice, at least for me!
