What is Yin Yoga?

The butterfly, another of my favorite yin yoga poses!
First of all, according to Chinese medicine, the body has all the capacity to heal itself, it just needs the right tools: energy must be able to circulate freely through the energy channels in the fascias! No blockages, no stagnation...
yin yoga , a story of fascia and energy....!
What is fascia ?
This 5 min video explains it very well! It is a network of tissues which is only one. These fascias or superficial or deep connective tissues surround our muscles, our ligaments, our bones... our organs...They are the ones who
hold us together.
Yin yoga: a meditative and gentle approach accessible to all
Yin yoga is a practice but also another way of seeing life ;;; Live in the present moment, slow down and appreciate what you are doing, get back in touch with nature, with your body, experience it, learn what it needs, regain self-confidence in order to know yourself better....
Yin yoga comes from the principles of Taoist yoga, it was brought back to the agenda in the 80s by Paul Grilley, following the discoveries made on the fascias on the American continent.
It relies on long stretches, combining slow and deep breathing. Characterized by postures held for several minutes, Yin yoga allows you to work the whole body and mind with these very old postures.
Since it targets the connective tissues, the fascias, rather than focusing the work on the muscles, Yin yoga can significantly improve the overall flexibility of the body as well as the health of the joints, organs and even bones. .
The long duration of each pose promotes relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system and allows access to a calm and an unequaled level of concentration which will allow you, over the sessions, to learn to clear your mind and let go. .
The benefits of yin yoga are among others:
-
Improved flexibility and suppleness, mobility of all major joints,
-
It promotes the health of the internal organs through the pressurization of the fascia and the circulation of energy in the meridians of Chinese Medicine in the poses, better circulation of energy,
-
It Strengthens connective tissues, deep tissues, fasciawhich under the action of the poses held longer, transform the hyaluronic acid contained in the fascias into collagen which comes to nourish and strengthen these joints, our muscles, our tendons, our bones
-
It stimulates the circulation of vital energy (chi), a guarantee of good health and blood circulation to better eliminate toxins,
-
Provides a feeling of calm by eliminating the stress of everyday life,
-
Promotes concentration and introspection,
-
Allows you to reach a state of deep meditation,
-
Improves the overall performance of the practice of active yoga and any other sports activity.
It is a practice that is suitable for everyone, regardless of age or level!

This is called the Acu-yin!
So that everyone can access it according to their anatomy, props are necessary in order to feel good in the poses. They are essential supports to practice in the greatest comfort and the greatest safety.
