What is restorative yoga?

The benefits of restorative yoga or restorative yoga:
An immediate release of body tension when carried by comfortable supports in comfortable postures,
a relaxation of mental and emotional tensions, due to the relaxation of the body, calms the nervous system,
The body's energy can flow freely again,
Better quality of sleep,
great recovery from physical or emotional fatigue,
We come out of a session completely relaxed, fatigue has disappeared, we have regained our energy!
Restorative yoga or restorative yoga is a meditative practice that calms the mind, balances the nervous system and relaxes the whole body. Restorative yoga helps us release chronic stress by cultivating “the art of doing nothing”. It is the ultimate cure for our stressful lifestyles.
This style of yoga is based on spontaneity and gentleness, surrounding oneself with supports such as blankets, cushions or bolsters, yoga blocks, a strap, a small cushion to cover the eyes, a chair and even a wall to guide the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation. The body being literally carried by all these accessories, no more muscles are engaged, the body relaxes naturally, letting ingrained tensions and stress escape. This leads to a state of healing, rest and renewal.
Restorative yoga promotes the ability to surrender to total relaxation through 3 or 4 poses in a session held between 15 and 20 minutes in the greatest comfort. It allows us to become aware of the tensions present on a daily basis in our body and our mind.
This style of yoga is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. It is suitable for everyone regardless of age or stage of life and regardless of physical condition. It is a perfect practice for beginners but also for the most active yoga practitioners .
Practicing restorative yoga mindfully creates emotional well-being. Those who tried restorative yoga for anxiety and depression felt emotionally stronger and more resilient.
Practicing restorative yoga in the evening can significantly improve the quality of sleep.
The instruments of restorative yoga combine spiritual and contemplative practices with those focused on the body.
Breathing exercises, mindfulness and different postures have a stronger influence on emotional healing than meditation and dynamic yoga.
These instruments, in fact, have a direct impact on the body when most traditional meditative practices do so more indirectly. They are especially powerful because the nervous system is in the body, the breath is in the body, the present moment is in the body, the mind is in the body. We filter our emotional experience through our body.
Come regenerate on all levels: physical, spiritual and emotional! It is magic !
See you soon ! pascal
